GR Auto Gallery is pleased to offer this 1984 Porsche 928 S for your consideration. This sleek sports car is powered by a 4.7L V8 that routes power to the rear wheels through an automatic transmission. The 928 S was said to have produced 234 horsepower which is plenty enough to hustle this lightweight coupe through winding back roads. Porsche's luxury grand tourer, the 928, was the company's first production V8-powered model and the only coupe offered with a front-mounted V8 motor.
This example is finished in the original coat of Schwarz (Black) paint. It is apparent that the paint has seen better days, but the body appears to be in good shape which is backed up by a clean CarFax report. It rides on 16-inch wheels and features some of the most unique pop-up headlights in the automotive world.
Inside the vehicle is a clean Weinrot (Burgundy) cloth interior. While the dashboard has some cracks above the gauge cluster and the carpet in areas has seen better days, the overall interior experience of this example is good. It has been left in a stock configuration with the exception of an aftermarket Pioneer radio. Porsche added some great creature comforts into their grand touring model with the highlights being air conditioning, power windows, sunroof, full length center console, and four place seating.
Introduced in 1978 the Porsche 928 was anything but Porsche. Front-engine, V8, automatic transmission, were all words that were not synonymous with the brand. The car was futuristic in design and the Luxury Sport Grand Touring 928 combined the power, poise, and handling characteristics of a sports car with the refinement, comfort, and equipment of a luxury sedan leading many executives to believe it was to replace the 911 as its appeal would hold a wider audience. Please call or email with any questions or for additional information.
